My musical education began in elementary school with piano and continued through high school, where I participated in band and choir, and college, where I studied piano pedagogy and vocal education. I've taught piano previously and have experience performing in both solo and ensemble settings. These experiences have given me a strong foundation in both the technical and personal sides of music education.

I remember what it feels like to be a music student.
I took piano lessons throughout my primary school years and participated in music festivals, so I know both the excitement of being proud of a performance and the disappointment of wishing I had done better. I also participated in band and choir throughout high school, where I discovered the joy of making music with others—and experienced the pressure of comparing myself to my peers.
Those experiences shape the way I teach. I won't just teach your student how to read music and play the notes on the page. I want them to develop the skills, work ethic, and confidence that come from learning something difficult and realizing, I can do this.
My goal is for your child to leave each lesson knowing that their worth as a musician isn't determined by a competition score or a perfect performance. Instead, I want them to learn to take pride in their preparation, celebrate their progress, and have the confidence to keep going when something is hard.
Because music education is about more than learning an instrument. It's about cultivating confidence through music.
